Overview
The Control Engineer will be at the forefront of automation initiatives within our high-speed bottling and packaging operations in North America. In this newly established role, you'll help design, enhance, and manage automation projects to improve production efficiency, safety, and quality. You'll also collaborate closely with various departments, including production, operations, and procurement, to ensure alignment with broader business goals and growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Design, develop, and implement control systems for bottling, packaging, processing, and material handling equipment.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting for control systems and work directly with vendors to resolve technical issues.
Identify opportunities to boost line efficiency, product quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide direction to site engineers on control system design, specifications, and requirements.
Support the deployment of digital tools, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Stay updated on the latest advancements in control systems for packaging and processing, recommending improvements where applicable.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
BS in engineering is required (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)
2-3 years of technical or engineering experience in high-speed bottling or related manufacturing environments is essential.
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, including hands-on work with PLCs, VFDs, robotics, and ladder logic.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP knowledge is a plus.
Strong teamwork skills, coupled with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Willing to travel up to 60%, depending on project needs and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation in food, beverage, or consumer goods industries.
Knowledge of working with equipment integrators and high-speed bottling lines.
Familiarity with the latest developments in control technologies for packaging and processing.
