Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead Electrical Engineer, who holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license, to oversee electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in the design and deployment of EV charging stations, with a thorough knowledge of relevant codes and safety standards. The role also involves project leadership, team supervision, and technical direction. Familiarity with site lighting or broader Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) work would be advantageous.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
Manage EV charging projects from concept through completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget compliance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Technical Design Leadership:
Provide direction on the design of EV charging systems, including the evaluation of sites, electrical distribution plans, equipment choices, and integration with existing setups.
Team Supervision:
Guide and develop a team of engineers and technicians, promoting a collaborative and innovative environment.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Liaise with clients, contractors, utility providers, and other key stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all designs and installations align with national, regional, and local electrical standards, including the NEC.
Continuous Learning & Improvement:
Keep up to date with advancements in EV charging technologies and best practices, incorporating cutting-edge solutions into designs.
Business Support:
Assist in identifying new business opportunities, contributing to proposal development, and helping to foster client relationships.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design and project management, particularly in EV charging systems.
Strong background in team leadership and project delivery.
Familiarity with site lighting or MEP work is an added advantage.
Technical Expertise:
Strong working knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC regulations.
Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Expertise in power distribution, grounding, and related systems.
Familiarity with EV charging systems, including standards like SAE J1772 and CHAdeMO.
Core Skills:
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage teams and foster professional growth among colleagues.
Salary Range: $130,000+
