A prominent law firm in the Houston area is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant to join their team on a permanent, direct hire basis.
Requirements:
3 or more years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a legal department or law firm setting.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook as well as Adobe Acrobat and document management systems.
Must be organized and able to handle many tasks at one time.
Duties include:
Answer phones and relay messages in an timely and professional manner.
Support multiple assigned attorneys.
Update internal documents in NetDocs.
Prepare and track packages/mail sent using Certified Mail Return Receipts.
Calendaring, keeping up-to-date with upcoming deadlines.
Prepare conference rooms for meetings.
Schedule Zoom meetings.
Initiates communication with attorneys regarding when important assignments are due.
Electronic filing in state and federal courts.
Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports for the attorneys.
Input time for the attorneys.
Prepare binders for depositions and hearings.
File management - opening, closing, and retrieval of client files.
