Job Title: ControllerLocation: Decorah, IowaSalary: $100-125K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Controller: The Controller will be responsible for driving operational KPI's. The Controller will ensure profitability and assess the effect of accounting standards on all business activities as well as oversee all activities of the accounting department.
Job Responsibilities of the Controller: •Oversee the activities of the accounting department including internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets.•Ensure the timely and accurate periodic financial closes and the preparation of operating and financial reports for management.•Analyze and interpret financial information.•Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, cash control, core payroll processing, and total corporate payroll tax compliance.•Assist with annual budgets and cash forecasting.•Provide leadership to a team of accounting professionals.•Establish and maintain systems and controls.•Actively participate in monthly business reviews.•Responsible for the timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close.•Successfully manages the annual audit process.• Responsible for monthly consolidation and leads monthly review of financial statements•Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
Education & Experience of the Controller:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance• 10+ years of experience in the accounting and finance sector, preferably multi-site manufacturing• In-depth knowledge of all aspects of accounting/financial analysis evolving technologies, and best practices• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills• Above average skills in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables & if statements• Demonstrated skills in independent decision making• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Ability to effectively interact across all levels within the organization• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills• Ability to facilitate, build teams, and work with groups• Continuous improvement mindset and a strong desire to make a difference• Perform other duties as assigned
