Position Overview:
As a Senior Concrete Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of multi-story cast-in-place concrete projects. You will be responsible for conducting detailed quantity take-offs, developing preliminary pricing, and managing cost estimation for complex structures across California. This role requires deep expertise in self-performed concrete estimation, including advanced understanding of production rates, formwork systems, and a variety of estimation tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform precise quantity take-offs for cast-in-place concrete elements, focusing on multi-story structures.
Develop preliminary pricing and budgets based on quantity data, materials, and historical production rates.
Analyze and apply man-hour production rates accurately for various formwork systems, placing, and finishing tasks to ensure reliable estimates.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide accurate estimates that align with project goals.
Utilize software tools, including Excel, WinEst, Cost-OS, Timberline Precision Estimating, and PlanSwift/On-Screen Takeoff, to support all estimating functions.
Support project teams with Model-Based Estimating (MBE), using 3D models and digital tools to enhance accuracy and visualize project scope.
Adjust estimates based on changing project parameters, offering insights and suggestions to optimize project costs.
Background Profile:
Minimum of 10 years of experience estimating self-performed, multi-story cast-in-place concrete structures in California.
Expertise in man-hour production rates for a range of formwork systems, as well as placing and finishing tasks, based on historical project data.
Proficiency in Excel, WinEst, Cost-OS, Timberline Precision Estimating, and PlanSwift/On-Screen Takeoff.
Familiarity with Model-Based Estimating is preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
