Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer

OUr client is recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer role based in Albany. This position is ideal for candidates with 10+ years of experience in building systems design, particularly focusing on HVAC and plumbing systems. The successful candidate will lead projects, mentor team members, and collaborate with architects and other building systems professionals.

Core Responsibilities
Design Development:
Design HVAC and plumbing systems for K-12 schools, colleges/universities, and corporate office projects.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop integrated building system designs.
Documentation and Administration:
Prepare construction documents and specifications.
Provide construction administration support, including submittal reviews and responding to RFIs.
Inspections and Reporting:
Conduct mechanical building inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
Develop technical reports and documentation.
Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years of experience designing building mechanical systems (HVAC) within the A/E and construction industries.
Prior experience working in or with an A/E office is required.
Education:
Bachelor of Engineering in Architectural Engineering (BAE) or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Revit and other design/presentation software is highly desired.
Knowledge of high-performance building design is a plus.
Licensure:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is highly preferred.
Communication:
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
