Senior Project Manager (Licensed Architect)

is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager position based in Albany. This role is ideal for a Licensed Architect or Engineer with 10+ years of experience who excels in leading projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will oversee all phases of one or more projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and design standards while translating initial design concepts into construction documents.
This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with part of the workweek eligible for remote work.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Plan, organize, and guide project teams to meet project objectives.
Foster collaboration among project designers, architects, and other team members.
Provide technical guidance and resolve complex issues effectively.
Project Management:
Oversee all project phases, ensuring alignment with budgets, schedules, and design intent.
Conduct on-site design development and contract document sessions.
Ensure compliance with client contracts, building codes, and ADA regulations.
Incorporate sustainable design solutions into project execution.
Client and Stakeholder Coordination:
Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and sub-consultants to address technical issues and project details.
Identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.
Budget and Schedule Oversight:
Develop project schedules and communicate key deliverables to the team.
Monitor fees and labor costs to ensure compliance with contract terms.
Oversee the financial outcomes of assigned projects.
Qualifications
Licensure: Licensed Architect or Engineer.
Experience:
10 years of experience managing architectural or engineering projects, including post-occupancy phases.
Experience with K-12 and higher education projects is a plus.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of design trends, construction methodologies, materials, and sustainability practices.
Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and Newforma (preferred).
Skills:
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong conflict resolution and leadership abilities.
Additional Requirements
Availability to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
Ability to travel to project sites and perform site observations, including in varying weather conditions and high-construction areas.
Background check may be required.
Use of hardhat, construction boots, and other safety equipment on-site.
Educational Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or Engineering.
