Location: Watertown, NY (70 miles north of Syracuse. Near the Black River and is close to the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River)
Job Summary:
Associate Degree in BioMed equipment technology or electronic technology with equivalent BioMed experience. Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology and how subjects relate to medical and test equipment. Leadership qualities, strong interpersonal skills. Previous biomedical experience a plus. Certified Bio Med Equipment Technician a plus. Valid Drivers license.
Biomedical Technician Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Install new equipment by adjusting, establishing, testing, and calibrating performance
Approve potential biomedical equipment by guaranteeing that codes are adhered to
Maintain supplies inventory by foreseeing needs, counting stock, placing orders, and verifying delivery
Direct operation of biomedical equipment by providing demonstrations, supplying information and data, instructing others in the care and use of equipment, and answering all questions
Keep biomedical equipment in working order by performing tests, following preventive maintenance guides, repairing and troubleshooting break downs, evaluating service contracts, ordering special services if necessary, and maintaining inventories
Prepare reports by analyzing, collecting, and recapping trends and information
Update job skills and knowledge by reading technical journals, taking advantage of educational opportunities, and maintaining professional networks
Keep patient information confidential
Carry out the goals of the organization by exploring opportunities to add significance to job duties, and by accomplishing different and innovative requests
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment by fulfilling and recommending procedures, performing safety tests, complying with codes, and guiding and training health care and medical personnel
Biomedical Technician Skills and Qualifications:
Associate degree in biomedical engineering or technology.
Electronic repair background.
Mechanical aptitude.
Will train if good at reassembling things with a desire to learn.
Good technical skills
Comfortable in a lab environment
