Electrical Power Distribution Engineer

Join the Maintenance/ Technical team of a world class chemical leader as an Electrical Power Distribution Engineer with plant level responsibility for power distribution (medium to high voltage, transformers, substations), controls (PLCs, HMIs, DCS), and instrumentation. QUALIFICATIONS:
-- BS Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university, with 5+ years experience in power distribution, control, and instrumentation for heavy industrial, chemical, refinery, pulp & paper, mining plant operations
-- Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting medium to high voltage power distribution, large rotating equipment, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers
-- Familiarization with MSHA, OSHA regulations, National Electric Code (NEC), ISA Standards and International Codes
-- Knowledge of project management: budgeting, planning, scheduling, and cost control
-- Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-- Manage the power distribution team to maintain the distribution systems including transformers, substation, breakers, protective relating thermal imaging and all other equipment.  Develop and maintain work programs and job plans
-- Assist in the planning and implementation of turnarounds and major engineering projects and support the project leader in all phases of major capital projects
-- Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing, conducting research programs, and applying knowledge of electricity and materials
-- Provide technical support/ troubleshooting for the plant instrument and electrical equipment
-- Assist in the preparation of maintenance and capital budgets; and handling capital projects
-- Perform analysis of power flow, voltage drop modeling, fault current calculations, load balancing, protective devices
-- Provide solutions to recurring maintenance problems by analyzing delays and failure analyses
-- Confirm system and component capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties
-- Lead the implementation of technical improvements and the application of spare parts and materials to extend life and prevent equipment deterioration
-- Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants
-- Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (e.g. Repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment.
