What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for an ambitious Senior Tax Accountant ready to take the next step in their accounting career. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax, a solid understanding of basic accounting concepts paired with QBO experience, and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. This role is perfect for someone looking for a better work/life balance while also seeking the opportunity to grow into a management position.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and review Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120
Meet with clients as needed, perform tax planning duties, & resolve tax notices as needed
Provide expertise in technical accounting matters
Oversee accounting and reconciliation processes via QuickBooks Online
Manage account reconciliations and ensure accuracy
Utilize QuickBooks and Fathom to analyze financial data and generate reports
Resolve payroll tax notices and related tasks as needed
Collaborate with team members to support clients and business operations
Work independently and solve problems with the resources available
Anticipate and prevent issues from arising when possible
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
4+ years of tax preparation experience
Strong background in preparing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120
Working knowledge of Ohio and Kentucky city and local tax issues
Ability to meet and communicate with clients both in person and virtually
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Experience with general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation
CPA or EA License
Ability to use Microsoft Office and Adobe products
Ability to work independently
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Leadership skills
Nice-to-have:
Drake or Lacerte Software experience
MBA or master's degree
Previous experience in payroll processing
Experience with software products like TaxDome, Fathom, Patriot Payroll, SurePayroll, ADP, QuickBooks Desktop, Verito, Calendly
Past experience working with clients in the medical field, specifically dentists or physicians
Sales tax knowledge
