Profitable, growing chemical manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to lead direct and indirect reports in a high-volume, process-oriented manufacturing environment.  Daily you will report to the Plant Manager and be strategic with the following responsibilities:
 


Developing, coaching and leading a staff of maintenance and engineering professionals  
Overseeing the plant preventative maintenance program, including coordination, scheduling and ensuring completion
Championing the improvement of an autonomous maintenance program 
Utilizing and advancing the CMMS system for documentation, ticketing and maintenance management activities 
Finding cost savings and process improvements 
Focusing on expense control and seeking cost savings 
Monitoring and working towards improvement of the ticketing system and related KPIs
Implementing additional maintenance KPIs, while striving to improve those that are in place 
Leading and participating in weekly and daily staff and management meetings 
Managing multiple project timelines and budgets, including managing outside contractors 
Committing to meeting the department budget and financial goals  
Leading and assisting staff with mechanical and troubleshooting as needed 
Overseeing staff reviews, hiring and discipline as needed 
Working toward improvement of the plant CI program 
Improving vendor management and communication 
Finding strategic opportunities to improve the department 
Other duties as directed by management


 

Candidates should be detail oriented, thorough, able to follow through on tasks, hold others accountable, be able to see the big picture, be improvement minded and able to communicate at a levels.  Individuals should enjoy spending 30-40% of their time on the manufacturing floor.  This is a high-profile position that reports directly to the Plant Manager.  The company offers EXCELLENT medical benefits (including dental and vision), profit sharing and bonus potential, paternity leave, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation and personal days.  Medical benefits are available the first of the month after start. REQUIREMENTS for the Maintenance and Engineering Manager:1. Bachelor's Degree in a technical field; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering are highly preferred 


1. Minimum of 1-3 years in a similar lead maintenance and/or engineering management position  3. Experience working in process-oriented manufacturing (such as chemical, food, beverage), including a blending/mixing batch process 

1. Experience operating and maximizing CMMS systems 

1. Experience overseeing budgets6. Experience with preventative maintenance programs

1. Experience working on continuous improvement activities, such as minimizing downtime, improving throughput, etc. 
2. Formal problem solving skills 

1. Mechanical Aptitude 10. Microsoft OfficeSkills preferred but NOT required:1. CPMM, CMRP or other related certifications 


1. Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and/or certifications3. Experience overseeing facilities maintenance  

1. Experience with autonomous maintenance programs 
2. Power BI
