Grants and Compliance Accounting Manager - Part Time

Our client is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Foundation Operations professional to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing the day-to-day operations of grants, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations, and maintaining the integrity of funding processes. The Grants and Compliance Accounting Manager will be responsible for:
Overseeing the entire grant lifecycle, from proposal development and submission to monitoring and compliance.
Ensuring compliance with funding source guidelines by reviewing and understanding grant terms and conditions to guarantee adherence to funder requirements.
Recording accurate, consistent, and timely accounting to facilitate audit readiness, tax support, and budget vs. actual analysis.
Managing grant budget projections, ensuring spending is on track, and handling any necessary amendments.
Collaborating with sub-grantees to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with both U.S. private foundation regulations (including expenditure responsibility) and International FCRA laws.
Coordinating and reviewing legal documents such as grant agreements, sub-award agreements, and service contracts.
Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
Performing other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
Core Competencies and Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including general accounting, compliance, budget development, and grants management.
Strong verbal communication, active listening, writing, and editing skills.
Collaborative team player who is nimble, flexible, and highly resourceful, with the ability to wear many hats.
Proven ability to resolve complex issues quickly and collaboratively.
Ability to compile and analyze data and prepare summary status reports.
Software:
Experience with accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
